This unique collaboration blending Liz Frencham’s double bass and voice with the internationally acclaimed songwriting of Fred Smith began in a session tent at the National Folk Festival in 2002. Since then they have recorded two duo albums (Into My Room and Lovethongs) and gone on to become a major force in Australian folk music. Fred recently returned from southern Afghanistan and released a powerful new album of songs from his experiences called ‘Dust of Uruzgan’. Meanwhile, Liz got married and moved to the Victorian countryside working on solo projects including ‘One’ – an album of covers performed on bass and vocal (and nothing else!). |
