The London Klezmer Quartet evoke a fervour and joy reminiscent of the minstrels who kept people dancing, laughing and crying in the ‘shtetls’ of Eastern Europe for hundreds of years. Their deep understanding of the celebratory and soulful music of Eastern European Jews is reflected in exuberant, passionate, and accomplished performances. Much in demand on the folk and world music scenes, band members have recorded and toured with the Indigo Girls, Sinead O’Connor, Natacha Atlas and She’Koyokh, and have brought Klezmer to thousands, helping the revival of this musical tradition through gigs in venues great and small, as well as via their popular hands-on workshops. |
