Internationally acclaimed songwriter and instrumentalist Stanley Greenthal stretches musical borders from Scotland, Ireland and Brittany to Greece and the Balkans. He sings and plays guitar, bouzouki, laouto and lavta (Greek and Turkish lutes), while Kip Greenthal adds harmony vocal and percussion. Scottish marches, Breton round dances and Cretan syrtos combine with songs to transport audiences to a different time and place with stunning rhythmic complexity. On tour for the first time in Australia he will be promoting his 2011 release “First Song” and will be joined by album collaborator Luke Plumb. |
