The National Folk Festival is a not-for-profit, volunteer driven organisation.
Your Kind Support Is Always Welcome
A dedicated and significant advocate for the folk arts in all their forms, in 2016 the National Folk Festival celebrated its 50th event.
If you love what we do we invite you to support the Festival by contributing to one of our individual giving programs. There are many ways to support us, we are a registered charity and all donations over $2 are tax deductible. From donations to sponsorship and partner packages, to philanthropic giving and bequests every contribution big and small makes a difference. Your donation will help us plan for the future, deliver a thought provoking artistic program and provide a creative platform for our artists.

Why Donate to The National Folk Festival
The National Folk Festival is a not for profit, volunteer driven organisation and a registered charity that receives very little in the way of public funding. It may surprise you to know that the Festival is 97.5% self funded. A great achievement, but it also means that it does not have the means to develop special programs beyond its core operations.
The National is a much loved and anticipated event every Easter where generations down the years have been inspired, enlivened and entertained by some of the best folk performers from around the country and the world. Many of our home-grown talent first found voice at the National before going on to make their own careers.
Donations of $2.00 or more are tax-deductible, greatly appreciated and guarantee the Festival’s ongoing development and contribute towards special projects and programs that will ensure the Festival remains culturally relevant, creative, diverse and enduring .
As a recent headline in the Canberra Times proclaimed, “the folk lovers keep on coming”… to soak up the atmosphere, meet old friends, make music and be part of the wonderful spirit of inclusiveness that is the National.

The National Folk Festival Public Fund: The National Folk Festival Public Fund was set-up to enable the organisation to accept tax deductible donations. The fund is listed on the Register of Cultural Organisations (ROCO) under Sub-section 30B of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1977. In order to comply with the guidelines of ROCO the Festival has a Public Fund Committee comprised of members of the Board of Directors. This Committee ensures that funds are used appropriately and gives approval for funds to be transferred out of the Public Fund account.
