Volunteers

Welcome Good People and thank you for your interest in supporting Good Folk!

Good Folk is a two-day concert series, bringing together the folk community in Queanbeyan and beyond, to experience exceptional performances, celebrate folk culture while supporting musicians and local businesses.

Good Folk is not a festival and therefore volunteering opportunities are limited.

Accommodation required by volunteers is not able to be provided by the National Folk Festival. 

All volunteering opportunities will be a minimum of two 4-hour shifts.

Each volunteer will receive an exclusive Good Folk branded t-shirt and a merchandise gift pack as well the opportunity to help out on an event that will bring Good Folk back together.

We need your help with the following roles: 

ticketing Assistant/ Usher

Where: Bicentennial Hall and The Q
When:  Saturday 3 April and Sunday 4 April (you must be available for both days)
Shift times: staggered 4 hours shifts between 9:00am - 11:15pm
Role Description: Checking tickets and assisting patrons to move through foyers to concert seats in accordance with our COVID Safe Plan.

Merchandise & Raffle Sales

Where: Campbell and George (session venue)
When:  Saturday 3 April and Sunday 4 April (you must be available for both days)
Shift times: 10:00am-2:00pm, 2:00pm-6:00pm, 6:00pm-9:00pm
Role Description: Displaying and selling merchandise and raffle tickets. 

Stage Management

Where: Bicentennial Hall and The Q
When: Saturday 3 April and Sunday 4 April (you must be available for both days)
Shift times: 8:30am-12:30pm, 12:30pm-4:30pm, 4:30pm-8:30pm, 8:30pm-11:30pm
Role Description: We are seeking volunteers that have experience in stage management for these roles.  You will need to be calm and professional as you work with artists, venue and production staff to assist in the delivery of performances.

Team Leader

Where: Bicentennial Hall, The Q, and Street Activities
When:  Saturday 3 April and Sunday 4 April (you must be available for both days)
Shift times: 8:30am-12:30pm, 12:30pm-4:30pm, 4:30pm-8:30pm, 8:30pm-11:30pm
Role Description: Be responsible for a small team of volunteers in a single venue. You will be responsible for ensuring volunteers arrive for their shift on time and they have read and understand the volunteer info pack. Bring out the best in your team by supporting your team when they have questions, need a toilet break or are so busy they could use an extra pair of hands!

Bump in & Bump Out

Where: Bicentennial Hall, The Q, The Campbell & George, The Royal Hotel and Street Activities
When:  Friday 2 April and Monday 5 April
Shift times: 12:00pm- 4:00pm
Role Description: Help set up and decorate each of the Good Folk venues.
