Redfern Shanty Club

The Redfern Shanty Club sings sea shanties and folk songs with big energy, teaching audiences the words to create a fun singalong atmosphere. Their ethos is that everyone should join in and experience the joy of singing together, putting aside worries of whether they sound ‘good’ or will remember the words. It’s all about making noise and having fun! Their signing sessions are enjoyable and infectious, and have inspired the establishment of more than a dozen other shanty clubs around the world. In 2024 they are celebrating our 10-year anniversary.
