During Festival, Pre/Post Festival for setup/pack up
The Community Arts (CommArts) team is responsible for a range of creative elements as part of the Festival. They facilitate a number of activities with a focus on participation and community, including mural painting and crafting workshops and lantern making leading up to a lantern parade through the festival.
Who
This team needs volunteers with good interpersonal skills, a strong sense of organisation and time management and who aren’t afraid of getting a little bit messy. A creative side is encouraged, and artistic experience is looked upon favourably.
Previous experience in fields relating to teaching young people or working with creative problem-solving will be highly regarded. Any applicants studying in this field are encouraged to apply.
The days are long and quite a lot of moving is involved, we will try to accommodate accessibility needs, but note this job means being on your feet during your shifts. Patience and understanding with younger festival goers, as well as kindness and a good deal of fun is also must!
When
The Community Arts team operates during the Festival, from the 25th to the 29th of March, between 8:30 am - 5:30 pm. Set up and pack down occurs March 22nd - 25th and March 30th - 31st.
Volunteers for this team are required to complete 20 hours of work, or 30 if working only pre and post.
How
All volunteers must complete the online safety induction as part of their application. Some teams may require additional training or briefings before the Festival. If this applies to your role, your Team Coordinator will advise you. Volunteers should also read any role-specific information or guides provided by their Coordinator.
