Site Decoration
Pre Festival and Post Festival
The Site Decoration team helps bring the National Folk Festival to life, transforming venues, marquees and public spaces into colourful, welcoming Festival spaces. You’ll help install decorations and creative elements across the site before the Festival, then assist with taking them down and packing them away afterwards.
Who
This team suits practical, creative volunteers who enjoy working with others and seeing a space transform around them. The work involves moving around the site, standing for extended periods, bending, reaching and carrying or installing decorations, so a reasonable level of mobility and physical capability is required. An eye for detail and enthusiasm for creating a colourful Festival atmosphere are highly valued.
When
The Site Decoration team operates primarily Pre Festival, with shifts from 22 to 25 March, and returns for pack-up on 30 and 31 March. Shifts are generally full days.
How
All volunteers must complete the online safety induction as part of their application. Some teams may require additional training or briefings before the Festival. If this applies to your role, your Team Coordinator will advise you. Volunteers should also read any role-specific information or guides provided by their Coordinator.
